The Catalase Antibody (CAB11780) is a high-quality antibody developed for reliable detection and analysis of target proteins. Catalase is an antioxidant enzyme that plays a crucial role in protecting cells from oxidative damage by breaking down hydrogen peroxide into water and oxygen. This antibody, generated in rabbits, is highly specific to human catalase and is validated for use in Western blot and immunohistochemistry applications. With its high sensitivity and specificity, this antibody allows for accurate detection and quantification of catalase in various cell types and tissues. Its ability to target catalase makes it an invaluable tool for researchers interested in studying oxidative stress, cellular metabolism, and the role of antioxidants in health and disease.
This antibody is validated for use in WB, ELISA applications and has demonstrated reactivity against Human, Mouse, Rat samples.

This gene encodes catalase, a key antioxidant enzyme in the bodies defense against oxidative stress. Catalase is a heme enzyme that is present in the peroxisome of nearly all aerobic cells. Catalase converts the reactive oxygen species hydrogen peroxide to water and oxygen and thereby mitigates the toxic effects of hydrogen peroxide. Oxidative stress is hypothesized to play a role in the development of many chronic or late-onset diseases such as diabetes, asthma, Alzheimer's disease, systemic lupus erythematosus, rheumatoid arthritis, and cancers. Polymorphisms in this gene have been associated with decreases in catalase activity but, to date, acatalasemia is the only disease known to be caused by this gene.
