The Fatty Acid Synthase (FASN) Monoclonal Antibody (CAB19050) is a high-quality antibody developed for reliable detection and analysis of target proteins. This high-quality antibody, produced using rabbit monoclonal technology, demonstrates exceptional reactivity with human samples and is validated for use in applications such as Western blotting.Fatty acid synthase (FAS) is a vital enzyme involved in the de novo synthesis of fatty acids, which are essential components of cellular membranes and energy storage. Dysregulation of FAS has been linked to cancer progression, making it a promising therapeutic target in oncology research.
This antibody is validated for use in WB, IHC-P, IF/ICC, IP, ELISA applications and has demonstrated reactivity against Human, Mouse, Rat samples.

The enzyme encoded by this gene is a multifunctional protein. Its main function is to catalyze the synthesis of palmitate from acetyl-CoA and malonyl-CoA, in the presence of NADPH, into long-chain saturated fatty acids. In some cancer cell lines, this protein has been found to be fused with estrogen receptor-alpha (ER-alpha), in which the N-terminus of FAS is fused in-frame with the C-terminus of ER-alpha.
