Myristate, a rare 14-carbon saturated fatty acid, is co-translationallyattached by an amide linkage to the N-terminal glycine residue of cellular& viral proteins with various functions. N-Myristoyltransferase 1, alsoknown as NMT1 catalyzes the transfer of myristate from CoA�to proteins. NMT1 seems to be irreversible and is essential for fullexpression of the biologic activities of several N-myristoylated proteins, aswell as the alpha subunit of the signal-transducing guanine nucleotide-bindingprotein, G protein.
NMT1 Human Recombinant produced in E.Coli is a single, non-glycosylated polypeptide chain containing 519 amino acids (1-496 a.a) and having a molecular mass of 59.2kDa.NMT1 is fused to a 23 amino acid His-tag at N-terminus & purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques.
