The Lysozyme (LYZ) Antibody (CAB13511) is a high-quality antibody developed for reliable detection and analysis of target proteins. This antibody, generated in rabbits, is highly specific to lysozyme and is validated for use in various applications such as immunohistochemistry and ELISA.Lysozyme is known for its ability to break down bacterial cell walls, making it a key player in the innate immune system. By targeting lysozyme, researchers can explore its role in host defense, inflammation, and infection.
This antibody is validated for use in WB, IHC-P, IF/ICC, ELISA applications and has demonstrated reactivity against Human, Mouse samples.

This gene encodes human lysozyme, whose natural substrate is the bacterial cell wall peptidoglycan (cleaving the beta[1-4]glycosidic linkages between N-acetylmuramic acid and N-acetylglucosamine). Lysozyme is one of the antimicrobial agents found in human milk, and is also present in spleen, lung, kidney, white blood cells, plasma, saliva, and tears. The protein has antibacterial activity against a number of bacterial species. Missense mutations in this gene have been identified in heritable renal amyloidosis.
