The SHMT2 Polyclonal Antibody is a key tool for researchers studying the SHMT2 protein, which plays a crucial role in cellular metabolism and cancer development. This antibody, developed using rabbit antibodies, shows high reactivity with human samples and has been validated for use in Western blot applications. By specifically binding to the SHMT2 protein, this antibody enables accurate detection and analysis in a variety of cell types, making it an essential component for studies in cancer biology and metabolic pathways.SHMT2, a mitochondrial enzyme, is involved in the regulation of one-carbon metabolism, a process essential for nucleotide synthesis and cell growth.
Dysregulation of SHMT2 has been linked to various types of cancer, making it a promising target for therapeutic interventions. By gaining a deeper understanding of the role of SHMT2 in cancer progression, researchers can potentially develop novel treatments that target metabolic vulnerabilities in cancer cells. In summary, the SHMT2 Polyclonal Antibody is a valuable tool for researchers aiming to unravel the complex mechanisms underlying cancer development and metabolism. Its high specificity and reliability make it an indispensable resource for advancing our understanding of the role of SHMT2 in health and disease.

Recombinant fusion protein containing a sequence corresponding to amino acids 265-504 of human SHMT2 (NP_005403.2).
This gene encodes the mitochondrial form of a pyridoxal phosphate-dependent enzyme that catalyzes the reversible reaction of serine and tetrahydrofolate to glycine and 5,10-methylene tetrahydrofolate. The encoded product is primarily responsible for glycine synthesis. The activity of the encoded protein has been suggested to be the primary source of intracellular glycine. The gene which encodes the cytosolic form of this enzyme is located on chromosome 17. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants.
