The APRT Antibody (CAB13946) is a high-quality antibody developed for reliable detection and analysis of target proteins. This antibody, generated in rabbits, is highly reactive with human samples and has been validated for use in Western blot applications. By binding to the APRT protein, researchers can easily detect and analyze APRT expression in various cell types.APRT, or adenine phosphoribosyltransferase, plays a crucial role in the salvage pathway of purine metabolism, which is essential for DNA synthesis and energy production in cells. Dysregulation of APRT has been implicated in various diseases, including gout and kidney stones.
This antibody is validated for use in WB, IF/ICC, ELISA applications and has demonstrated reactivity against Human, Mouse, Rat samples.

Adenine phosphoribosyltransferase belongs to the purine/pyrimidine phosphoribosyltransferase family. A conserved feature of this gene is the distribution of CpG dinucleotides. This enzyme catalyzes the formation of AMP and inorganic pyrophosphate from adenine and 5-phosphoribosyl-1-pyrophosphate (PRPP). It also produces adenine as a by-product of the polyamine biosynthesis pathway. A homozygous deficiency in this enzyme causes 2,8-dihydroxyadenine urolithiasis. Two transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.
