The Calpain 2 Monoclonal Antibody (CAB4066) is a high-quality antibody developed for reliable detection and analysis of target proteins. This antibody, produced in rabbits, has high specificity and sensitivity for detecting calpain 2 in human samples, making it ideal for use in Western blot applications.Calpain 2 is known to play a critical role in cell signaling, protein turnover, and cytoskeletal dynamics, making it a key player in processes such as cell migration, differentiation, and apoptosis. Dysregulation of calpain 2 has been implicated in various diseases, including cancer, neurodegenerative disorders, and muscular dystrophies, making it a valuable target for research.
This antibody is validated for use in WB, ELISA applications and has demonstrated reactivity against Human, Mouse, Rat samples.

The calpains, calcium-activated neutral proteases, are nonlysosomal, intracellular cysteine proteases. The mammalian calpains include ubiquitous, stomach-specific, and muscle-specific proteins. The ubiquitous enzymes consist of heterodimers with distinct large, catalytic subunits associated with a common small, regulatory subunit. This gene encodes the large subunit of the ubiquitous enzyme, calpain 2. Multiple heterogeneous transcriptional start sites in the 5' UTR have been reported. Two transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.
