Engineered for clarity, built for confidence
Powered by loop-mediated isothermal amplification (LAMP), the GenieColor kit pairs research-grade sensitivity with an answer you can read with the naked eye.
Unmistakable visual readout
A sharp pink-to-yellow colour transition reports contamination instantly — no gels, no Ct values, no ambiguity.
One step, one hour
Add 1 μl of culture supernatant to the reaction mix and incubate at 65 °C for 60 minutes. That's it.
No specialised equipment
Runs in any PCR block or a calibrated water bath. No fluorescence reader, no dedicated platform required.
Anti-contamination system
A built-in safeguard neutralises amplicon aerosols, suppressing the false positives that plague open detection workflows.
High sensitivity & specificity
Reliably detects mycoplasma plasmid down to 100 copies/μl, validated against 40 species including the 8 most common cell-culture contaminants.
Broad sample compatibility
Works across adherent and suspension cells, a wide range of media and serum — with positive and negative controls included.
From flask to answer in four steps
A streamlined LAMP workflow that turns a microlitre of supernatant into a clear yes/no result.
Collect supernatant
Culture cells undisturbed for ≥72 h to ~90% confluence. Take adherent supernatant directly; spin suspension cells at 500 ×g for 5 min and collect the supernatant.
Prepare the reaction
Combine 19 μl GenieColor LAMP Mix with 1 μl of sample (plus matched positive & negative controls). Overlay with mineral oil if using a water bath.
Incubate 65 °C · 60 min
Run in a PCR instrument or calibrated water bath. The isothermal LAMP reaction amplifies any mycoplasma DNA present in the sample.
Read the colour
In bright light, pink = negative and yellow = positive. Keep tubes sealed to avoid aerosol contamination.
