The SLC39A8 Polyclonal Antibody (CAB22238) is a high-quality antibody developed for reliable detection and analysis of target proteins. This antibody, generated in rabbits, is highly specific to human samples and is ideal for use in Western blot applications. By binding to the SLC39A8 protein, researchers can easily detect and analyze its expression in a variety of cell types.SLC39A8 is known for its role in maintaining zinc homeostasis within cells, impacting a variety of biological processes such as growth, development, and immune function. Dysregulation of SLC39A8 has been implicated in various diseases including neurological disorders, metabolic conditions, and immune deficiencies.
This antibody is validated for use in WB, ELISA applications and has demonstrated reactivity against Human, Rat samples.

This gene encodes a member of the SLC39 family of solute-carrier genes, which show structural characteristics of zinc transporters. The encoded protein is glycosylated and found in the plasma membrane and mitochondria, and functions in the cellular import of zinc at the onset of inflammation. It is also thought to be the primary transporter of the toxic cation cadmium, which is found in cigarette smoke. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. Additional alternatively spliced transcript variants of this gene have been described, but their full-length nature is not known.
