FAQs

Recombinant protein FAQs

What purity are your recombinant proteins?

Proteins are purified to ≥95% purity as standard, confirmed by SDS-PAGE. The purity and QC data for each lot are on the product datasheet.

Are your proteins bioactive?

Many proteins are tested for biological activity, with an ED50 or specific activity reported on the datasheet — as in the TGF-β1 example above. Proteins without an activity statement are suited to uses such as ELISA standards, antibody production and binding assays.

Which tag should I choose?

His-tagged proteins suit purification and detection; Fc-tagged proteins are dimeric and useful for binding and cell-based work; biotinylated (Avi-tagged) proteins attach in a defined orientation to streptavidin surfaces for ELISA, SPR, BLI and flow cytometry. The tag and expression host are listed on each product page.

Which species are available?

Human, mouse and rat make up the largest ranges, with proteins from 20+ further species including bovine, canine, porcine, non-human primate, viral and microbial sources.

What is the lead time?

Typical lead time is 7–10 business days.

Do you offer custom or bulk proteins?

Yes. If you don't see the protein you need, or need larger quantities, our team offers tailored expression and development — get in touch with your target and requirements.
