What is the difference between a cellular assay and a biochemical assay?
Cellular assays measure processes in living or fixed cells — such as viability, cytotoxicity, proliferation or apoptosis. Biochemical assays quantify specific molecules or enzyme activities (metabolites, ions, proteins, phosphorylation) in lysates, tissue or biological fluids. Assay Genie offers both across a single, consistent portfolio.
What detection formats do your assays use?
Our kits use colorimetric, fluorometric and luminescent read-outs measured on a standard microplate reader. The read-out for each kit, along with the recommended wavelengths, is listed on the individual product datasheet.
What sample types are compatible?
Depending on the assay, compatible samples include cultured cells, tissue homogenates, serum, plasma, urine and cell-culture supernatant. Validated sample types and required volumes are provided on each product page.
